Biography

Shehzad joined Capital One in March 2025 as EVP, Head of Enterprise Data Tech (EDT), where he leads technology, architecture, and engineering strategies for Enterprise Data (eData). Shehzad has more than 36 years of experience in data architecture, large-scale systems, and AI. He spent nearly have of his career at Amazon, where he was most recently Vice President of Amazon Artificial General Intelligence and led innovations in speech and audio foundational models to enable advanced conversational AI capabilities. He also led the high-performance computing and model training infrastructure for Amazon’s Large Language Models. Shehzad played a key role in shaping the voice technology for Alexa. He held prior roles at Amazon, including Director of Supply Chain, Director of Marketplace Trust and Safety, and Director of Business Intelligence. Before Amazon, he held senior technology positions at FICO and NCR/Teradata. Shehzad holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Southern California. He is based in Redmond, WA, where he lives with his wife Vera, and their three kids - Luca, Mika, and Camille. In his free time, Shehzad enjoys travel, photography, music, and above all, everything that has anything to do with cars.
